Woman Killed in Crash in Floyd County

 

FLOYD COUNTY, TX — A fatal crash early Sunday morning took the life of 22-year-old Ashlee Breann Stevens from Lubbock, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The crash occurred around 3:23 a.m. on US Highway 62 near mile marker 378. Stevens was traveling south when she veered off the road, driving straight through a curve and onto the improved shoulder, the DPS report stated.

Stevens lost control of her vehicle, which then skidded and rolled before coming to a stop on the west side of the roadway.

The report confirmed that Stevens was pronounced dead at the scene due to the injuries she sustained. 

DPS noted that she was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. 

Road conditions were reported as clear and dry.
