LUBBOCK, TX — A crash in south Lubbock saw a short foot chase from the Lubbock Police Department before one man was tased and then detained.
At around 9:15 on Monday morning, September 30, Lubbock PD and other emergency personnel responded to a crash at the intersection of 98th St and Quaker Ave. The crash involved a Grey Honda Accord and a White GMC Terrain.
It is unclear how the crash occurred, but our reporter on the scene observed severe front-end damage to the GMC Terrain and severe damage to the passenger side of the Honda Accord, leading our reporter to believe that it was a t-bone crash.
No injuries were reported.
After the crash occurred, the driver of the Honda took off and had to be chased down by Lubbock Police before officers deployed a taser to subdue the fleeing man. He is now in custody, but it is not clear if he was being arrested or just detained.
South Plains LIVE! reached out to the Lubbock Police Department for comment, but have yet to receive a statement.
LPD and Lubbock Fire Rescue shut down one northbound lane on Quaker Avenue due to the incident, but traffic has already returned to normal.
This is a developing story.
