Lubbock Man Collides With Tree in Fatal Car Crash

 

LUBBOCK, TX — A fatal crash early Sunday morning claims the life of Aaron George, 24, after colliding with a tree. The accident occurred around 12:45 a.m. on County Road 2800, between Municipal Drive and FM 2641.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, George was driving a 2011 Mazda CX-9 SUV northbound when he left the roadway and crashed into a tree in the west barrow ditch. Despite clear and dry weather conditions, George was pronounced dead at the scene.

A press release states that George was not wearing a seatbelt during the accident. The posted speed limit for that stretch of County Road 2800 is 60 mph.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and updates will be provided as more information is released.
