Bicyclist Killed After Collision with Car in South Lubbock

 

LUBBOCK, TX — A crash between a car and a bicycle on Sunday evening left one person seriously injured, then later pronounced deceased near the intersection of 103rd and Indiana Ave.

The Lubbock Police Department received the call at approximately 9:37 p.m. on October 27th. 

Officers arrived at the scene and found that Juan Vallin, 24, was driving a passenger car north in the 10200 block of Indiana Avenue when it collided with bicyclist Charles Clay, who was also traveling north in the same area.

According to a press release, Clay was transported to University Medical Center by EMS with serious injuries. Authorities reported Clay was pronounced dead after sustaining the injuries.

The Lubbock Police Department’s Major Crash Unit is investigating the collision, and further details will be provided as they become available as the investigation continues.
