Nissan Versa Crunched in 3-Car Pile-Up on 34th

LUBBOCK, TX — A three-vehicle crash on 34th Street near Elgin Ave. snarled traffic Wednesday afternoon at around 5:30 p.m.

Our reporter at the scene did not see Lubbock Fire and Rescue load anyone into an ambulance. But the fire department was needed to separate the Nissan Versa from the Ford F-150 pickup following the crash. Police diverted traffic off of 34th St.

Police won't talk at crash scenes, but from our untrained eye, a Jeep was southbound on Elgin and attempted to make a left turn onto 34th to head east. The Nissan Versa slammed into the Jeep's front driver's side door near the middle of the intersection. The F-150, upon approaching the calamity at the intersection, could not avoid slamming into the Versa.

Air bags were deployed all around.
