GAINES COUNTY, TX – A woman from Seminole was killed in a car crash Wednesday morning, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Mindy Sue Moreno, 35, was involved in a fatal crash that occurred just before 9 a.m. near the intersection of US 385 and County Road 124. According to DPS officials, a semi-truck driven by Jesus Hernandez, 47, of El Paso, was traveling west on County Road 124 when it stopped at the intersection with US 385.

Moreno was driving north on US 285 in the passing lane when the truck hit her after Hernandez failed to yield the right of way. Moreno was pronounced dead at the scene.

DPS said the weather was foggy during the crash, and both drivers wore seatbelts.

The cause of the crash is still being investigated.
