Structure Fire Reported Outside of Smyer

 

SMYER, TX — The Smyer Volunteer Fire Department responded to a structure fire about 8 miles west of Lubbock at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, February 26.

The fire occurred on Cat Road, off US Highway 114.

Our reporter on the scene said that what looks to have been a mobile home caught fire and spread to the open field nearby. Volunteer firefighters quickly took action to get the blaze under control.

There was severe damage to the structure, but the fire is contained.
