LUBBOCK, TX — Lubbock Fire Rescue and the Wolfforth Fire Department responded to a grassfire on 130th Street and Upland Avenue on Wednesday, February 26.

Check out the scene below:

The fire blazed just off the road on 130th Street near the intersection of Upland Avenue. Smoke could clearly be seen billowing into the air from miles out. Our reporter on the scene said that the smoke is much less prevalent than before, and firefighters continue to work the scene.

The Woodrow Fire Department showed up later to help with the blaze.

The fire appears to be contained at this time.

In addition to the fire, a wreck happened at that same intersection. A black BMW hit a silver pickup truck. It is not clear what caused the crash but the sight of the fire might have influenced the crash.
