Seminole Woman Killed in Pedestrian Crash on US 385

 

SEMINOLE, TX — A 66-year-old Seminole woman was killed in a pedestrian accident on Thursday night near US 385 and FM 1788.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Vinita Gayle Hobbs, 66, was crossing the southbound lanes of US 385 at around 9 p.m. when she was hit by a vehicle driven by Juan Carlos Arroyo, 32, of Seminole.

Hobbs was pronounced dead at the scene.

Arroyo’s passenger, Jorge Luis Valencia, 31, also from Seminole, was injured and taken to Seminole Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. DPS stated Arroyo was not hurt.

The weather was clear at the time of the crash, and both men were wearing seatbelts. The posted speed limit on US 385 is 75 mph.

The incident is under investigation.
