Two Killed in Hockley County Crash

 

HOCKLEY COUNTY, TX – Two people were killed and one person was seriously injured in a crash last Thursday evening at the intersection of FM 1585 and FM 168, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The crash happened at 6:12 p.m. on July 2.

According to DPS, a 2019 Ford F-250 pickup towing a trailer was traveling north on FM 168 and approaching the intersection with FM 1585, where the driver had a stop sign. A 2015 Chevrolet Silverado pickup was traveling west on FM 1585 when the Ford and trailer pulled into its path.

Investigators said the Chevrolet collided with the trailer and rolled over.

The driver of the Chevrolet, 44-year-old Felicia Flores of Levelland, and a 14-year-old female passenger from Levelland were pronounced dead at the scene.

A second passenger in the Chevrolet, 22-year-old Aliyanna Luna of Levelland, was taken to University Medical Center in Lubbock with serious injuries.

The driver of the Ford, identified as 31-year-old Abraham Knelsen of Seminole, was not injured.

DPS said all four people involved in the crash were wearing seat belts.

The crash remains under investigation.
