AUSTIN, TX — The Texas Department of Public Safety has designated Ernest Christopher Nathan, 45, as this month’s Featured Fugitive on the Texas 10 Most Wanted list. The reward for information leading to his arrest has been increased to $6,000.
According to a press release, Nathan is wanted in Harris County for murder, with a warrant dating back to February 2024. His criminal record spans multiple states, including Georgia, where he has faced charges of aggravated assault, battery, and bail jumping since 2006. In October 2022, Nathan was arrested in Houston for murder and evading arrest but was released on bond the following day.
At 6 feet tall and weighing approximately 200 pounds, Nathan has tattoos on his arms and back. He has connections not only in Houston but also in Georgia, Ohio, and Louisiana.
The Governor’s Public Safety Office funds Texas Crime Stoppers, which offers cash rewards for tips leading to the capture of Texas’ Most Wanted Fugitives, Sex Offenders, and Criminal Illegal Immigrants. So far in 2024, law enforcement has arrested 36 individuals from this list, including 13 sex offenders, 10 gang members, and 4 illegal criminal immigrants, the release states.
To qualify for the cash reward, tipsters must provide information through one of the following methods:
- Call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477).
- Submit a web tip via the Texas DPS website by selecting the fugitive and clicking the link under their picture.
- Send a tip through Facebook by clicking the “SUBMIT A TIP” link in the “About” section.
