SWAT Team Capture Suspect After Standoff in Central Lubbock

 

LUBBOCK, TX — On October 23, at approximately 3:50 p.m., members of the Texas Anti-Gang Unit were on a mission to locate and arrest Domingo Ray Rodriguez, 33, who had an outstanding warrant for assaulting a family member with a previous conviction and tampering and fabricating evidence with intent.

Officers found Rodriguez near 49th Street and Joliet. As he noticed the officers, he entered a nearby residence and refused to exit. In response, law enforcement initiated Barricaded Subject Protocols and contacted the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team for assistance.

After a standoff, Rodriguez was taken into custody at around 5:30 p.m.

He is being transported to the Lubbock County Detention Center, where he will face the outstanding charges.
