LOS ANGELES, CA — A woman from Los Angeles has filed a lawsuit against Grammy-nominated producer Metro Boomin, alleging that he raped her in 2016, resulting in a pregnancy.
Reports indicate that the lawsuit, submitted in Los Angeles Superior Court, has been met with a firm denial from the producer's attorney, who describes the claims as false.
Vanessa LeMaistre, 38, claims she developed a friendship with Metro Boomin, whose real name is Leland Wayne, after the death of her 9-month-old son. She alleges that during a visit to a recording studio months later, she lost consciousness after consuming alcohol and a half-bar of Xanax and woke up to find Wayne sexually assaulting her.
According to the lawsuit, LeMaistre discovered her pregnancy weeks later and asserts that there was no doubt the child was Wayne's, leading her to have an abortion soon after.
Wayne’s attorney, Lawrence Hinkle II, has labeled the allegations as a "pure shakedown. " He states that Wayne will defend himself in court and intends to file a claim for malicious prosecution once the case is resolved.
Metro Boomin is recognized for his contributions to the music industry, including curating the soundtrack for “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” and co-producing several hit songs. His 2022 album “Heroes & Villains,” featuring artists like John Legend and The Weeknd, earned a Grammy nomination for best rap album.
LeMaistre’s lawsuit seeks damages for sexual battery and gender violence, with the amount to be determined at trial.
