DPS: $8,500 Reward For Information on Wanted Fugitive

AUSTIN, TX — The Texas Department of Public Safety has announced Miguel Angel Gomez, 51, as this month’s “Featured Fugitive” in the ongoing Texas 10 Most Wanted program.

A reward of up to $8,500 is now being offered for information that leads to his arrest if the tip is received during the month of November.

Gomez is wanted for murder in Harris County and has been on the run since 2022. According to DPS,  he is also wanted for a parole violation and has a lengthy criminal history, including a 2009 conviction for sexual assault of a child.

He was sentenced to 15 years in prison for that offense and had prior convictions for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, burglary of a vehicle, and burglary of a building.

Standing 5’ 5” tall and weighing around 150 pounds, Gomez is described as having tattoos on his neck, both hands, left leg, and left arm, as well as scars on his face, lip, and left forearm, says DPS. He is considered dangerous, and law enforcement urges anyone with information about his whereabouts to come forward.

Since the beginning of 2024, DPS and its partner agencies have successfully arrested 40 individuals from the Texas 10 Most Wanted list, including sex offenders, gang members, and criminal illegal immigrants. A total of $24,000 in rewards has been paid to tipsters whose information led to arrests.

To be eligible for the cash reward, tipsters must submit information through one of the following methods:

  • Call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477)
  • Submit a web tip through the DPS website
  • Send a tip via Facebook by clicking the "SUBMIT A TIP" link under the "About" section

DPS urges anyone with information to come forward and help bring this fugitive to justice. For more details and updates on Gomez’s case, visit the DPS website.
