Child Found Locked in Dryer at Houston Laundromat

 

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — Three adults were arrested on November 11 after a six-year-old child was found locked inside a dryer at Hi Tek Washateria on Kuykendahl Road in Houston, Texas

According to reports, authorities say the child was put in the dryer by one of the suspects, Haven Duncan, for “losing a bag of chips.” Duncan allegedly closed the dryer door, keeping the child from getting out.

Two other suspects, Life Ford and Jaqory Gill, were reportedly at the laundromat and refused to let the child out of the dryer. Bystanders saw the incident and called 911 for help. 

Deputies arrived to find the child visibly shaken, and emergency medical responders evaluated the child before releasing them to a guardian. Child Protective Services was also notified.

When deputies tried to arrest the suspects, Gill fled on foot, and Ford allegedly blocked a deputy from chasing him. A perimeter was set up, and Gill was captured shortly after. Duncan was found to be carrying a loaded firearm at the time of his arrest.

The three adults were responsible for the child’s care at the time of the incident.

The suspects face the following charges:

  • Haven Duncan: Child Endangerment (Bond set at $10,000)
  • Jaqory Gill: Evading Arrest (Bond set at $100)
  • Life Ford: Interfering with Public Duties (Bond set at $100)

Constable Mark Herman’s office confirmed that the investigation is ongoing and stressed the importance of community awareness and child safety.
