Two Charged with Murder in West Lubbock December Shooting

 

LUBBOCK, TX – Lubbock Police have arrested two men in connection with the fatal shooting of 25-year-old Devante Edwards on December 12, 2024.

According to a press release from LPD, the shooting took place in the 6100 block of 26th Street in West Lubbock when officers responded to reports of shots fired around 11:04 p.m. When authorities arrived, they found Edwards with multiple gunshot wounds and pronounced him dead at the scene.

After the shooting, the Lubbock County Texas Anti-Gang Unit assisted with the investigation. The effort led to the arrest of Bryan Garcia, 23, and Xavier Garcia, 21, both charged with murder in connection to Edwards' death. 

Arrest warrants were issued for the two suspects, and they were taken into custody at the Lubbock County Detention Center.

According to the warrants, Bryan Garcia and Xavier Garcia have a bond of $300,000 each.
