Teen Killed in Clovis Apartment Complex Shooting

 

CLOVIS, NM — Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting in Clovis, New Mexico, early Saturday morning at an apartment complex in the 1000 block of North Ash Street.

According to a press release from the Clovis Police Department, at approximately 2:00 a.m. on January 11, officers were dispatched to N. Ash Street in response to reports of a possible shooting victim.

When officers arrived, they found Tony Cristan, 18, lying on the ground with gunshot wounds to his upper torso and head. Cristan was quickly transported to Plains Regional Medical Center before being transferred to a hospital in Lubbock. He later passed away due to his injuries.

Police say they have identified and arrested two suspects in connection with the shooting. Brian Williams, 16, faces charges of murder, conspiracy, and tampering with evidence. Jimmy Garcia, also 16, has been charged with tampering with evidence and harboring or aiding a felon.

The investigation is ongoing, and more details will be provided as more information is released.
