Lubbock Man Flees Stolen Vehicle Near Family Dollar

 

LUBBOCK, TX — A 32-year-old man was arrested on Sunday afternoon after leading deputies on a brief foot chase fleeing a stolen vehicle.

On Jan. 26, at approximately 12:25 p.m., deputies were alerted to a stolen vehicle in the 3400 block of Quaker Avenue near a Family Dollar. When they located the car, authorities initiated a traffic stop.

However, Jackson Crawford, the driver, fled the scene on foot after deputies stopped the vehicle, according to a press release.

He was later located in the 4400 block of 31st Street and taken into custody without further incident.

Crawford faces multiple charges, including Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, Theft of Property (valued between $100 and $750), and Evading Arrest or Detention on Foot.

The stolen vehicle and property from the Family Dollar were returned to their rightful owners. 

Crawford is currently booked at the Lubbock County Detention Center and remains on bonds totaling $27,500.
