LPD Offers Reward for Info on Fatal N. Lubbock Shooting

LUBBOCK, TX – Authorities are offering a reward for information leading to an arrest in a shooting that left one person dead and another injured in north Lubbock on February 15.

At around 11:20 p.m. on Saturday, Lubbock Police responded to a call about a fight in the 1200 block of Jarvis Street. When officers arrived, they found Adam Hernandez, 36, in a car near the 1000 block of North Avenue Q.

According to a press release, he had been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle, Larry Moreno, 37, was also shot. He was quickly taken to University Medical Center with serious injuries.

The Lubbock Metropolitan Special Crimes Unit took over the investigation. Police believe the incident started with a verbal argument inside a business on Jarvis Street.

The situation escalated into physical fights outside, and at some point, Hernandez and Moreno got in their SUV and drove away. Police say when the vehicle stopped, someone began shooting at the men. Moreno was able to drive a few hundred feet before stopping in front of a business on North Avenue Q.

Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Line at 806-741-1000.

LPD is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest, and tipsters can remain anonymous.
