DPS: Texas Most Wanted Illegal Immigrant Captured

AUSTIN, TX — The Texas Department of Public Safety announced the capture of Rigoberto Enrique Valencia, 20, on Friday, March 14.

Valencia was on the state's 10 Most Wanted Criminal Illegal Immigrants List and was arrested in Liberty County after a traffic stop in Cleveland, Texas. A Crime Stoppers reward was not issued for his arrest.

Valencia, an illegal immigrant from El Salvador, had been wanted by Harris County authorities since August 2024 for failure to appear in court on charges related to carrying a prohibited weapon. His criminal record includes an arrest in March 2024 by the Houston Police for unlawful carrying of a weapon. A few months later, in August 2024, he was arrested again for carrying a prohibited weapon and later bonded out of jail.

Texas Crime Stoppers, funded by the Governor’s Public Safety Office, offers cash rewards for tips that lead to the arrest of people on the Texas 10 Most Wanted Lists. So far in 2025, 16 fugitives, including four sex offenders and five criminal illegal immigrants, have been arrested, with $22,000 in rewards being paid for helpful tips.

Anyone with information about a wanted person can submit tips anonymously by calling the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477), submitting a tip through the DPS website, or using the “Submit a Tip” link on Facebook.

DPS Special Agents continue working with local and federal law enforcement to capture criminals on the Texas 10 Most Wanted Lists. For more information and photos of wanted fugitives, visit the DPS website.

Authorities advise the public not to try to apprehend these fugitives, as they are considered armed and dangerous.
