AUSTIN, TX — The Texas Department of Public Safety announced on March 17 that a Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender is back in custody following his arrest in Stilwell, Oklahoma, on March 12.
According to DPS, Raymond LeeTrejo, 35, of Abilene, was wanted since May 2024 for failing to comply with sex offender registration requirements.
The arrest was made possible through a tip that led authorities to Trejo’s location. He was taken into custody by the Special Applications Branch (SAB) of the Cherokee Nation Marshal Service, with help from DPS Special Agents from Abilene and the Stilwell Police Department.
Trejo’s criminal history dates back to 2009 when he was convicted of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl in Taylor County. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for the offense.
In recognition of tips' role in solving cases, a Crime Stoppers reward will be issued for information leading to Trejo’s arrest, says DPS. Texas Crime Stoppers, funded by the Governor’s Public Safety Office, offers cash rewards for tips that help capture individuals on the Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitives, Sex Offenders, and Criminal Illegal Immigrants lists.
So far in 2025, DPS and partnering agencies have arrested 16 individuals from the Texas 10 Most Wanted lists, including four sex offenders, with $22,000 in rewards paid out for successful tips.
