CLOVIS, NM — An arrest warrant has been issued for a 42-year-old man in connection with an incident that left a 60-year-old woman hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
According to a press release, Clovis Police Dispatch received a 911 call with sounds of groaning and crying on Tuesday, March 18th, at approximately 8:44 p.m.
Officers responded to a massage parlor at 3018 N Prince Street and found a 60-year-old woman with severe head and body wounds.
EMS stabilized the woman before transporting her to Plains Regional Medical Center. She has since been transferred to a hospital in Lubbock, said Clovis Police Department
CPD's Special Operations Unit started an investigation, and detectives have identified Christopher Gipson, 42, as a suspect. An arrest warrant has been issued for Gipson on charges of Kidnapping, Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon, Assault with Intent to Commit a Violent Felony, and Tampering with Evidence.
Gipson was in Clovis for a construction job and is believed to be armed with a machete. He was last seen wearing gray sweatpants with tattoos all over his torso. Authorities do not think he has other ties to the Clovis area.
Clovis Police are asking anyone who may have seen Gipson or has information on his whereabouts to contact the department.
