Man Wanted in North Lubbock Shooting Turned Himself In

 

UPDATE: Victor Yanez, 22, turned himself into the Lubbock County Detention Center and was placed under arrest at 3:30 p.m. on April 17.

LUBBOCK, TX – The Lubbock Police Department is seeking the public’s help in locating a man who is wanted in connection with a fatal shooting earlier this week.

According to a press release, officers responded to a shots-fired call around 2:08 a.m. on Sunday, April 14, in the 1800 block of Clovis Road. When they arrived, they found Joshua Rios, 38, suffering from serious injuries. 

EMS transported Rios to University Medical Center, where he was later pronounced deceased.

Investigators have identified Victor Yanez, 22, as a suspect in the shooting. An arrest warrant for murder has been issued, and police say Yanez should be considered armed and dangerous. 

Authorities warn the public not to approach him.

Anyone with information about Yanez’s whereabouts or the investigation is urged to call Crime Line at (806) 741-1000 or contact Detective Madrigal directly at (806) 300-6685. Callers may remain anonymous, says LPD.
