Texas Tech Kicks Off Semester with Fresh Welcome for Students

 

LUBBOCK, TX – Texas Tech University’s main campus is buzzing with activity as the new academic year begins today, August 22. New and returning students are seen roaming the campus with excitement and anticipation as they embark on the fall semester.

Texas Tech University and TTU Athletics welcomed students to the start of the 2024 fall semester on their X accounts.

According to a press release from September 2023, Texas Tech University had a record 40,944 students enrolled in 2023, marking a continued trend of growth in student enrollment in the 2024-2025 school year.

This includes over 12,000 new students, comprising first-year, transfer, and graduate students, with a record 7,200 being first-year students.

Notably, more than one-third of the 2023 first-year class identified as first-generation students.

Throughout the week, students are encouraged to participate in Raider Welcome Week, which features a series of fun and free events designed to welcome both new and returning students to the Texas Tech campus.

By the end of the week, students will be equipped with the resources and support needed to thrive throughout the academic year.
