Walmart Celery Sticks Recalled Over Listeria Risk

 

OXNARD, CA — Duda Farm Fresh Foods is recalling 1,587 cases of “Marketside Celery Sticks” due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

According to a press release from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the recall was made due to the possibility of contamination with Listeria monocytogenes discovered in a sample from a store in Georgia.

The celery sticks with a “Best if Used By” date of March 23, 2025, were sold at Walmart stores in 30 states.

According to the FDA, Listeria can cause serious illness, especially in young children, older adults, pregnant women, and people with weakened immune systems. Symptoms include fever, headache, stomach pain, and in severe cases, miscarriage or stillbirth.

No illnesses have been reported so far. Anyone who has this product should throw it away and not eat it, even if it was frozen.
