Lubbock to Host Meet and Greet for Potential Fire Rescue Chief

 

LUBBOCK, TX — The City of Lubbock invites residents from around the area to meet the finalists for Lubbock Fire Rescue Chief. The City will host a public meet and greet reception for the Chief finalists from 5 p.n. To 7 p.m. at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center Terrace Suite on Thursday, August 15.

The City of Lubbock wants to ensure that the community knows that all community members are welcome and encouraged to attend. During the meet and greet, opportunities to provide feedback will be available.

Below are the five finalists for Lubbock Fire Rescue Chief listed in alphabetical order:

  • Robin Bergerson - City of Waco Fire Department - He is currently the Executive Deputy Fire Chief but has held the positions of firefighter, Captain, and Deputy Chief of Emergency Operations within the Department, among others, during his 27 years with the Department.
  • Robert Keinast - interim Fire Chief of Lubbock Fire Rescue - Keinast has been with LFR since 1999. During that time, he has served as Battalion Chief of Communications, Division Chief of Battalion 1, and Deputy Chief of Support Services, among others.
  • Kyle Mills - Assistant Chief of the Frisco Fire Department - Throughout his 20-year career, he has served several fire departments across the state, including Amarillo, Plano, Celina, and Frisco. He was also a Deputy State Coordinator for six years for the Texas Intrastate Fire Mutual Aid System (TIFMAS).
  • Brent Shanklin - Assistant Fire Chief for the Arlington Fire Department - During his 28 years there, he has used his expertise in the Fire and Medical Operations divisions and served as an instructor for the Fire Academy for several years.
  • Richard Stewart - Assistant Chief Special Services for the Irving Fire Department - Prior to this role, he has served as Assistant Chief Operations, Assistant Chief Administration, and Battalion Chief Training/Communications, among others. He has been with IPD since 1994.

These finalists are the results of an intensive, nationwide search. The City of Lubbock said that they will name the recommended finalist as soon as possible.
