Update on Shooting in South Lubbock

 

LUBBOCK, TX - The Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office issued an update on Monday about a shooting early Sunday morning, which left one person dead and five others injured. LCSO identified the victim as 17-year-old Dalequavion Barnard York, according to.

Authorities previously reported that the shooting occurred just before 3:00 a.m. in the 9200 block of Highway 87.

“During the initial investigation, it was determined that multiple individuals were present at the location when gunfire erupted following a confrontation among individuals,” LCSO said.

Reports say the five people who were hurt had non-life-threatening injuries. Two people were arrested for unrelated charges, authorities said.

LCSO stated the investigation is still underway.
