AC Unit Sparks Fire at Lubbock Hotel

 

LUBBOCK, TX – Lubbock Fire Rescue responded to a fire at a Lubbock hotel on Wednesday, September 4, 2024.

LFR was alerted to a fire at the MCM Elegante Hotel on Avenue Q. Upon arrival, crews discovered flames in one of the rooms.

Officials determined that the fire was caused by an AC unit on the ground by one of the workers, according to a release.

Hotel guests were evacuated while the fire was brought under control.

No injuries were reported and occupants have returned to their respective units.
