TxDOT to Shift Work, Close Lanes on 66th Street Bridge Friday

LUBBOCK, TX – The Texas Department of Transportation announced that crews will be removing barricades and shifting work to the 66th Street bridge over I-27 on Friday, September 13.

Drivers should anticipate closures on the 66th Street bridge and the westbound Loop 289 frontage road from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This update follows the completion of repairs on the westbound Loop 289 frontage road bridge at I-27.

TxDOT expects the closures to last around two weeks.

TxDOT stated that after the barriers are removed, the outside lanes of 66th Street will remain open.

Additionally, the westbound Loop 289 frontage road lanes and the cloverleaf ramps will be open to traffic on Friday afternoon.

Note that the work is weather permitting, according to TxDOT.
