Two New Traffic Signals Installed to Enhance Safety This Week

 

LUBBOCK, TX — Two new traffic signals will be activated in the coming days improving safety and reducing delays for drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists.

The first signal will be activated at 114th Street and Memphis Avenue intersection on Wednesday, September 25, 2024. This new signal is expected to enhance traffic flow for vehicles turning onto and off Memphis Avenue providing a safer crossing for pedestrians and cyclists along 114th Street.

The second signal will go live at the 82nd Street and Quincy Avenue intersection on Thursday, September 26, 2024. Similar to the first, this signal will reduce delays for vehicular traffic and ensure safe crossings for pedestrians and cyclists.

City crews will remain on-site at both locations after the signals are activated to complete any remaining work.

Officials are urging motorists to slow down and eliminate distractions in work zones to ensure everyone's safety.
