LFR Responds to Bedroom Blaze on Thursday Morning

 

LUBBOCK, TX — Just after 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 26,  Lubbock Fire Rescue received a 911 call reporting a structure fire in the 4800 block of 6th Street. The caller informed dispatch that the flames were located in a bedroom.

According to a post on X, units from Station 7 were the first to arrive on the scene, quickly confirming that a working structure fire was underway. Fire crews faced significant challenges as they navigated through the home, dealing with heavy smoke, debris, and hidden rooms.

Despite these obstacles, firefighters worked swiftly and efficiently, managing to extinguish the blaze and contain it in the affected bedroom. 

The fire was determined to have been caused by an improperly discarded cigarette. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported in the incident.
