Inside Lubbock’s Steamy “Sex Castle”

IDALOU, TX — In a cotton field off U.S. 62 just east of Idalou is a $1 million home that looks like a castle that has become a hotspot for couples interested in partner-swapping. However, That Pineapple Club describes its offerings more subtly, promoting “Seductive Lifestyle Experiences.”

Known simply as “The Castle,” the venue has attracted the attention—and, in many cases, the scorn—of neighbors, who report seeing the place lit up on weekend nights with cars parked out front from everywhere. The driveway is marked by a black-and-orange “Private Drive” sign, likely aimed at deterring the curious. At one point, the venue even advertised its proximity to a nearby RV park, located just 10 miles away, making it easy for visitors staying there to attend the sex parties.

“There are always a lot of cars there,” one Idalou resident commented about the weekend activity. The Castle has become the town’s hush-hush topic of conversation.

“Do you know what happens in there?” asked another longtime resident.

The venue advertises its events on Instagram and Facebook, charging couples an entrance fee of $50. Single men are not allowed, but single women can attend for $20.

Inside, The Castle is equipped with rooms featuring vinyl-covered mattresses, often with multiple beds. Club rules state that shoes are not permitted on the beds, as high heels can damage the vinyl.

That Pineapple Club is not the only venue of its kind in the Lubbock area. Another sex club, called TinBoxxx, operates similarly, though we were told its event locations vary. Both clubs require online registration to receive details about upcoming parties.

That Pineapple Club is open only on Friday and Saturday nights, with events running until 2 a.m. However, guests must arrive before midnight, as no entry is allowed after that time.
