UMC Restores EHR Systems After Ransomware Attack

 

LUBBOCK, TX—UMC announced that on Friday, Oct. 11, it successfully restored its Electronic Health Record system across all locations and the Find-a-Physician feature on its website. The organization is now focused on re-establishing patient-facing systems and internal programs for patient care.

According to a release, patients can now access the MyTeamCare patient portal to communicate with UMCP Clinics. UMC’s Emergency Centers are operational and accepting patients via ambulance, with only a limited number being redirected.

UMC continues to investigate the extent of a recent incident, collaborating with third-party firms to ensure the secure restoration of entire operations. In the release, UMC expresses gratitude to its patients and the community for their patience and support during this challenging time and appreciation for the dedication of the UMC team.
