Local Bakery to Close Its Doors After 12 Years

LUBBOCK, TX — After over a decade of serving the Lubbock community, Simply Decadent, a beloved local bakery, will close its doors on December 24. The announcement comes after a very challenging year for many businesses in the Hub City.

In a Facebook post, the bakery owner noted the journey leading to this choice and expressed gratitude for the support received. However, she did not know if the closure would be permanent.

"This has been a dream of mine since I was 12," she said on the post.

The bakery has been a big part of the Lubbock community for over 12 years, and it is known for baking custom cakes and cookies.

The bakery says they will continue to fulfill existing orders with the same quality and service. The owner encourages customers to use any gift cards and to visit for their favorite treats one last time.

The staff will remain on board until the final day, and the owner encouraged everyone to continue supporting local businesses.

"Even if you cannot financially help them, share their social media posts, leave a great review, and recommend them," the owner said.

"They could all use your support now more than ever."
