Lubbock Conducts Outdoor Warning System Friday

LUBBOCK, TX — The City of Lubbock will perform its monthly Outdoor Warning System test on Friday at 9:30 a.m.

This test is part of the city's routine monthly siren check, which takes place on the second Friday of each month. Officials remind residents that this is only a test and does not indicate any severe weather in the area.

The test may be canceled if there is a 10% or greater chance of rain on Friday to avoid confusion with actual weather alerts.

Residents should be aware as they may hear sirens during the test. The test helps ensure the system is working properly in the event of an actual emergency.
