Silent Wings Museum Hosts Veterans Day Ceremony

 

LUBBOCK, TX — The Silent Wings Museum announced it will host an event honoring the veterans of the United States Military on Monday, November 11, 2024.

Admission is free, and the event will go on from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

A solemn ceremony will begin at 11:00 a.m. and include the Estacado High School Color Guard, a Veterans Day Proclamation by Lubbock Mayor Mark McBrayer, and a speech by Dr. Ron Milam on the importance of Veterans Day. The All Saints Episcopal School Children’s Choir will perform to celebrate the accomplishments of those who have served.

After the ceremony, visitors can take part in educational activities, including making poppies in remembrance of our nation’s military veterans. There will also be an opportunity to learn about glider operations during World War II.
