Lubbock to Conduct Code Sweep in Wheelock/Monterey Area

 

LUBBOCK, TX — The City of Lubbock's Code Administration Department will conduct a neighborhood deployment in the Wheelock/Monterey area on Wednesday, November 13, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. 

Inspectors will focus on the area bordered by University Avenue, 50th Street, Indiana Avenue, and 34th Street.

According to a press release, the deployment is to identify potential violations related to junked vehicles, nuisance weeds and rubbish, substandard housing, and zoning issues. The department stated that it would work to address other neighborhood concerns to ensure compliance with city codes.

To help residents clean up their properties, the city’s Solid Waste Department will provide a roll-off dumpster at Wheelock Park. The dumpster will located at 40th Street and Flint Avenue, where any furniture, mattresses, appliances, and tree branches can be thrown away.
