Lubbock Judge Appoints Temporary Justice of the Peace

 

LUBBOCK, TX — Lubbock County Judge Curtis Parrish has appointed Betty Dills, the county's longtime Civil Chief, as the temporary Justice of the Peace for Precinct 1, effective immediately. Dills will step in to oversee the court during Justice of the Peace Jim Hansen's temporary absence.

Justice Hansen recommended Dills, as he is currently away from the bench. While away from the office, Dills will preside over the court, handling scheduled cases and issuing decisions.

"I have complete confidence in Ms. Dills' ability to effectively manage the court in Judge Hansen's absence," said Judge Parrish. "Her extensive experience and legal knowledge will ensure the court continues to operate smoothly and efficiently. It is an honor to make this appointment."

According to the release, Dills brings years of experience to the position and will continue the fair administration of justice in Precinct 1.
