City of Lubbock Names New CFO

 

LUBBOCK, TX — Joe Jimenez has been appointed the new Chief Financial Officer for the City of Lubbock.

According to a press release, Jimenez brings over 16 years of experience in finance and operations, most recently serving as the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis at Lubbock Power & Light. There, he managed the Operating Budget, Capital Program, and Purchased Power.

Before joining LP&L, Jimenez worked in the City of Lubbock’s Financial Planning & Analysis department and in Procurement Services at Texas Tech University.

“I am honored and excited about the opportunity to join a strong leadership team and look forward to collaborating with my Finance team, Executive team, City Manager, and the City Council,” said Jimenez.

Jimenez holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration and a Master’s in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on Public Administration and Business Management from Texas Tech University.

City Manager Jarrett Atkinson welcomed Jimenez, saying, “Joe brings unmatched energy, enthusiasm, and a deep understanding of governmental finance. We are pleased to have him as our new CFO.”
