LUBBOCK, TX — As the holiday travel season approaches, Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport offers tips to make your trip more comfortable.
Packing:
- Check your carry-on for prohibited items and avoid packing valuables or medications in checked bags.
- If traveling with hunting or hobby gear, ensure there are no unintended prohibited items.
- For a list of allowed and prohibited items, visit TSA.gov or use the MyTSA app.
Before You Go:
- Arrive at least 90 minutes before your flight's scheduled boarding time.
- Confirm your flight status with your airline.
- Print your boarding pass or use an electronic version.
- Bring a government-issued photo ID for all adult passengers.
Parking:
- Parking near the terminal will fill up quickly. For additional covered parking, use Airport Shelter Park, which offers a free shuttle to the terminal. Call 806-744-1004 for rates and hours.
Checking In:
- If you’re checking a bag, drop it off at the ticket counter.
- If you checked in online and don’t have a checked bag, go directly to the TSA security line.
- Allow extra time if traveling with children, elderly passengers, or pets.
- A Service Animal Relief Area (SARA) is available near Gates 6 and 7 for those traveling with service animals.
Picking Up Passengers:
- Use the Cell Phone Waiting Area to park and wait for passengers to call you when they’re ready.
- Curbside is for immediate pick-ups and drop-offs only. Waiting at the curb is not allowed.
