Lubbock Justice of the Peace Jim Hansen Passes Away

LUBBOCK — Lubbock County Justice of the Peace Jim Hansen passed away on November 30 after a courageous battle with cancer, according to a statement from his office.

Judge Hansen, who was first elected as Justice of the Peace for Precinct 1 in 1990, was the longest-serving elected official in Lubbock County history.

“It is with heavy hearts that we send our deepest sympathies to Judge Hansen’s family, friends, and his staff in the Justice of the Peace Precinct 1 office,” said Curtis Parrish, Lubbock County Judge.

Hansen's contributions to the community and his decades of service will be remembered by many in Lubbock County.
