GoFundMe for Family of Lubbock Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash

LUBBOCK, TX — A GoFundMe has been created to support the family of Maguire Vogel, 22, who lost his life in a motorcycle crash on December 23. Vogel was a beloved son, partner, and father of a 2-year-old boy.

At approximately 4:46 p.m. on December 23, the Lubbock Police Department responded to reports of a collision with injuries in the 5300 block of Marsha Sharp Freeway. Investigators stated that Vogel was riding his motorcycle alongside another rider when the two bikes crashed into each other. Vogel lost control, struck a guardrail, and was ejected from his motorcycle.

He was rushed to University Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead. Authorities have not released the second rider’s condition.

Vogel’s family described him as a dedicated partner to his high school and college sweetheart, McKayla, and a loving father to their 2-year-old son, Luka. In addition to his full-time job, he was also a nursing student.

“He was the best guy… He helped everyone no matter what,” the campaign says.

The page was created by MaKayla’s mother, who shared how difficult it has been to support her daughter and grandson during this time. "Nothing can take away the pain for her and Luka losing his daddy," the GoFundMe description reads.

The family is asking for any donations to help McKayla and Luka. Currently, $15,055 has been donated to the family.
