LUBBOCK, TX — Get ready to eat some flapjacks! The largest pancake festival in the world happens to be right here in the Hub City. Lubbock’s annual Pancake Festival is around the corner.
The Lubbock Lions Club is back for this annual festival, which will take place on Saturday, February 15, at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., serving up all-you-can-eat pancakes, sausage, bacon, and more.
The largest Lions Club in North America has been hosting the Pancake Festival since 1929. To make sure there's plenty for everyone, the Lions Club stocks up on an impressive amount of food.
The menu includes nearly 6,000 pounds of pancake mix, 41,000 ounces of pancake syrup, 46,500 servings of milk and orange juice, 240 gallons of coffee, 72,000 sausage links, and more than 23,000 slices of bacon. There will also be plenty of extras, like 3,850 pieces of bubble gum, over 2,000 bags of cotton candy, and 2,000+ face tattoos for the kids.
While the food and atmosphere are a big draw, the real goal of the event is to raise money for local charities. All the profits from the Pancake Festival go to over 30 organizations in Lubbock, including Meals on Wheels, the Salvation Army, and the Texas Lions Camp for children with special needs.
In 2019, the festival raised over $122,000 for different organizations and still holds the world record for the most pancakes served in an eight-hour period by a nonprofit organization!
Currently, information on tickets for the pancake festival has not been released. In years past, tickets were usually $10 if bought ahead of time and $12 at the door, with children 4 and under free.
Updates on pricing and more information will be provided as soon as they are announced.
