Lubbock City Offices and Facilities Closed for New Year's

 

LUBBOCK, TX — In observance of the New Year’s holiday, all City of Lubbock offices will be closed on Wednesday, January 1, 2025. Normal business hours will resume on Thursday, January 2.

According to a press release from the City of Lubbock, several other city facilities will also adjust their hours for the holiday.

The West Texas Region Disposal Facility and Caliche Canyon Landfill will be closed on January 1 and resume operations on January 2. Residential trash collection and drop-off recycling centers will also be closed on January 1. Both services will return to normal hours on January 2.

All Lubbock Public Library locations will close at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 31, and will be closed on New Year’s Day. Regular hours will resume on Thursday, January 2.

The Buddy Holly Center, Silent Wings Museum, and Garden and Arts Center will also be closed on January 1, reopening on January 2.

Community and senior centers will be closed on Wednesday, January 1. The Burgess-Rushing Tennis Center and Safety City will also be closed. Regular hours will resume on Thursday, January 2.
