LUBBOCK, TX — The Buddy Holly Center is participating and inviting locals to check out Lubbock's First Friday Art Trail on January 3, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Hosted by the Louise Hopkins Underwood Center for the Arts (LHUCA), the monthly Friday event gives people a chance to explore free art exhibitions, performances, and activities at venues across the Hub City.
This month, the Buddy Holly Center will feature the West Texas Watercolor Society Signature Show, curated by Dr. Candace Keller, a professor at the University of the Llano Estacado. The exhibition will spotlight watercolor and other water media artwork by talented artists from throughout West Texas.
For over 60 years, the West Texas Watercolor Society has supported local artists with scholarships, workshops, and community programs. The exhibition is funded by a City of Lubbock grant, along with donations from Friends of WTWS.
The event is free to attend and will include art demonstrations, crafts for kids, and refreshments. A free raffle giveaway will also be part of the evening’s festivities. The release noted that no outside food or drinks are allowed inside the venue.
The Buddy Holly Center is located at 1801 Crickets Avenue, and the event is open to everyone.
