5 Dogs Rescued in Wolfforth Trailer Fire

WOLFFORTH, TX — The Lubbock County Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call reporting a fire in the 9000 block of Canoga Avenue at approximately 9:55 p.m. last night, Jan. 2.

The caller informed authorities that a travel trailer was engulfed in flames and that the fire was spreading to a nearby single-wide trailer.

Wolfforth Command and Engine 5 were the first to arrive at the blaze, finding the RV fully involved in flames and the adjacent trailer beginning to catch fire.

Assistance from the West Carlisle Volunteer Fire Department quickly worked to extinguish the fire so there would be no damage to the neighboring trailer.

According to a Facebook post from Wolfforth Fire and EMS, firefighters successfully rescued five dogs from the scene, and no injuries were reported to people or animals.

The cause of the fire has not been announced, and the investigation is ongoing.
