Lubbock's OWS Test Canceled Due to Weather

LUBBOCK, TX — The City of Lubbock announced that the Outdoor Warning System test scheduled for Friday, January 10, at 9:30 a.m. has been canceled due to weather conditions.

The city tests the Outdoor Warning System every second Friday of the month as part of its safety protocol.

However, the test is called off if the National Weather Service predicts a 10% or higher chance of severe weather that day. In this case, the forecast shows possible snow and ice, therefore the test will not be rescheduled.
