LPD Veteran Dispatcher Passes Away, 22 Years of Service

 

LUBBOCK, TX — The Lubbock Police Department announced the death of a public safety dispatcher, Troy Shelton, on Tuesday, January 14.

Shelton passed away Monday night at University Medical Center after being hospitalized for a short illness that started on December 27.

The department wrote on social media that Shelton's dedication to his job and the people of Lubbock showed his strong character. “His presence will be missed,” LPD said.

According to the post, Shelton worked in the Communications department with LPD for over 22 years.

Throughout his career, Shelton was known for his hard work and commitment to the LPD and the Lubbock community.

The department share their condolences with his family and friends as they mourn his loss.
