City of Lubbock Offices and Services to Close for MLK Day

 

LUBBOCK, TX – In observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, all City of Lubbock offices, including the City of Lubbock Utilities, will be closed on Monday, January 20.

Normal operations will resume on Tuesday, January 21.

Residential Trash Collection
Monday's residential trash collection will be rescheduled for Tuesday, January 21, and Tuesday's routes will be picked up on Wednesday, January 22.

Recycling and Landfill Operations
City of Lubbock drop-off recycling sites, citizen convenience stations, and landfill facilities will be closed on Monday. Regular operations will resume on Tuesday.

Libraries
All Lubbock Public Library locations will be closed on Monday, January 21. Regular hours will resume on Tuesday, January 22.

Cultural Facilities
The Buddy Holly Center, Silent Wings Museum, and the Garden & Arts Center will also be closed on January 20. Regular hours will resume on Tuesday.

Community Centers
The adult meal program will not be available on Monday but will resume on Tuesday, January 21.

Parks Facilities
The Burgess-Rushing Tennis Center and Safety City will be closed on Monday, with regular hours resuming on Tuesday.

City of Lubbock Utilities
The City of Lubbock Utilities will close its offices and call center on Monday, January 20. Emergency crews will continue to operate as usual during the closure. 

However, due to issues with the City of Lubbock Utilities website, residents will not be able to access payment portals or contact the department for billing questions. 

The Utilities offices will resume normal business hours on Tuesday, January 21.
