Lane Closures Scheduled for N. Loop 289 Bridge Maintenance

LUBBOCK – Maintenance work on the north Loop 289 bridges at I-27 will cause lane closures throughout the week.

According to a release from TxDOT, crews will begin repairing the eastbound frontage road bridge on Loop 289 on Wednesday, February 26. The repair work will require lane closures on the northbound I-27 main lanes, and drivers can expect 2 days of daytime lane closures.

The westbound North Loop frontage road bridge will reopen to traffic on Thursday, February 27. To allow crews to continue working on the bridge safely, the traffic barrier will be moved to the westbound Loop main lanes at I-27. Extended lane closures on the main lanes are expected, and this phase of the project will take approximately 4 weeks to complete.

TxDOT has noted that all work is weather-dependent, and delays could vary depending on conditions.

Motorists should expect delays and be cautious in the work zones.
